How to protect data in the flash disk, that's the core that we will discuss in this article. There are so many ways to protect your files, folders and drives in computers. Some use a password, hide it and several other ways. The data you have in the flash disk is to be protected because the flash disk is one means of communication of data between computers. Usually the flash disk may be borrowed someone else and this is where your data should be protected in order not diketahuia by other parties. We will encrypt the data in the flash diskdengan specific software.
Note: Although this article refers to a USB flash drive, you can encrypt the hard drive of your computer with ease! You will be able to encrypt your entire compact disk, USB flash drives, USB memory stick or other external storage devices. This work will be our setting by using the free software "FreeOTFE".
The steps are;

1. Download and install FreeOTFE software from this address; http://www.FreeOTFE.org

2. Create a new virtual encrypted disk by clicking on the icon "New" at the top and follow the prompts in the wizard. Select "File volume based" when prompted

3. Create a "Mount" disk by clicking the icon "mount" at the top, and enter the file name of the encrypted disk that you just created, the following password. A new disk will appear on your computer!

4. Select the new disk to store your personal data.

5. Next select the item "Dismount" virtual encrypted drive on the toolbar. This will lead to a new disk to disappear so that this process is securing your data.

6. Move the file-image had to CDs, DVDs, USB flash drives, USB memory stick or other external storage devices.

7. Copy the contents of C: Program Files FreeOTFE into a new folder on your external storage device is the same.

8. To access your personal data again, simply plug the flash disk, click the "Mount", and specify the name of the file-image on your USB drive and your password. Disk will appear again, and you can use your data.
