A view years ago, I  decided to embark on this journey to my financial freedom. Initially, I wanted to do so in the form of a physical business. I soon realised this was much tougher than it seemed. I had a full-time job, was doing a degree in communications, had little capital and was just lost in the sea of information out there. Eventually, through my readings I stumbled upon the idea of internet marketing. It was a low-cost/low-capital method; it could be done in my free time and required me to work on a computer. It was the perfect way for someone with limited resources to start out and I decided to head in full-force.

Blogging, writing articles, posting banner ads, submitting to forums and selling products are a few simple ways to create income on the net, but let's face it, there must be a proper plan in place to ensure that your online business is running smoothly. This is why many see affiliate marketing as a great way to earn income online.

Affiliate marketing is where you sell someone else's product on their behalf and earn part of the commissions. Multiply this by a huge number of products and the fact that you have a huge list of subscribers; you would have created an income source that would offer you a means to financial freedom.

Beginning

Let us remember that there is a learning curve for everything. Internet success does not happen overnight. Building a good list of subscribers takes time. Just signing up for a course is not going to get you instant results. You need to get yourself a detailed time-table for your internet marketing activities. You have to be willing to do what other are not to succeed. This means running multiple platforms such as blogs, replying to forums relating to your niche and using social-networking sites such as Facebook to extend your reach.

Remember, as a new internet marketer the most important thing is to get yourself and your website known. That is why you need to find ways to drive traffic to your site. Potential customers come in there, sign-up and you increase your list (client list).

To be successful you need to do this daily together with the other niches you are running. Initially, this may all seem daunting but with all things in life the more you do it, the easier it gets.The ultimate objective is to convert these customers into paying customers who will keep coming back for more.
